Title: Quality Assurance Engineer
Xytech, the leading global provider of software solutions for today's Media and Broadcast companies, has an immediate opening for a motivated Quality Assurance Engineer in its Mission Hills, Ca. office. This position will include day-to-day involvement with development engineers, product managers, solution consultants and system administrators to minimize software defects prior to release and to ensure that all software releases are of the highest quality possible.
You will be responsible for directing the QA team, developing, debugging, running and analyzing the results of automated tests and utilities. You will also be responsible for authoring quality defect reports, maintaining quality procedures, reviewing design documents, testing in multiple environments and developing thorough test procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Build and execute test scripts using knowledge of standard validation techniques and quality standards.
- Act as QA team lead directing the QA staff in their day to day duties.
- Work with project managers to develop test cases.
- Interface with project managers and development resources.
- Participate in test case development, manual testing, and validation of all applications using knowledge of documentation reviews and requirements analysis.
- Contribute to the improvement of software development quality control processes and procedures.
- Build library of test plans and test cases.
- Follow established guidelines in the management of reporting defects using defect tracking tools.
Qualifications include:
- At least 2 years of prior QA experience in software application testing.
- Knowledge of software quality assurance methodology, test planning, automated testing tools, and overall risk assessment.
- Experience using automated tools for regression testing, load and/or stress testing.
- Extensive experience creating test plans and testing scenarios for Windows based applications.
- Experience using defect tracking systems and a clear understanding of how to communicate product deficiencies to an engineering team.
- Experience directing QA staff.
- Excellent critical thinking and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English.
Additional skills desired:
- Direct experience creating automated test scripts with Test Complete 7.
- Experience with Visual Studio 8/10, C# and Team Foundation Server.
- Experience with .NET Winform client applications.
- Experience testing Silverlight applications.
- Experience testing APIs.
